There’s a lot happening at the Comox Valley Horticultural Society!
From March onwards we’re pleased to announce that meetings will be offered both in person at the Florence Filberg Centre in Courtenay and via Zoom for those who want to join us remotely.
The March meeting is extra special as in addition to our guest speaker, we’ll also be holding our Spring-A-Friend and Member Plant Sale.
So, invite your friends free of charge to our March 20th meeting so they can see what we’re all about and check out the Plant Sale.
Our guest speaker is Kabir Bhalla. He will be sharing his knowledge on mushroom forming fungi and fungal diseases in plants. He’ll also talk about the benefits of fungal interactions in the environment.
Kabir is a PhD candidate in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at the University of British Columbia where he studies how medically relevant fungi contribute to disease.
Want to attend? If you’re joining us in person, we’ll be at the conference hall in the Florence Filberg Centre in Courtenay. Doors open at 6.30pm. The plant sale will take place until 7.30pm when our guest speaker will share his knowledge.
How do I register? Advanced registration is required for those attending for free via Zoom. Visit our website at comoxvalleyhortsociety.ca by 5:00pm on Friday, March 17th, as it requires two days to process. CVHS 2023 memberships are now available to purchase from our website or download a registration form and mail it in!
