On Monday, September 16, Linda Gilkeson will be the guest speaker at the CV Hort. Society meeting. Linda will share how to design resilient food and ornamental gardens to help our plants survive the extreme weather conditions. Linda will also show us how we can make a difference in our own gardens to mitigate climate change including designing landscapes to capture carbon.

Linda earned a Ph.D in Entomology from McGill University in 1986 and was awarded the Queen’s Jubilee in 2003. She’s an accomplished author with books covering organic gardening, pest management and weed and disease control.  Linda is a regular instructor in the Master Gardener program in BC and is busy year-round giving workshops on pest management and organic gardening.

There’s lots going on at the September meeting, not only is there an excellent speaker but there’s also a Garden Harvest Display & contest. Join us in bringing a Food Bank donation so we can help those in need in our community.

Want to attend? If you’re joining us in person, we’ll be at the conference hall in the Florence Filberg Centre in Courtenay. Doors open at 6.30pm and the meeting will begin at 7.15pm. If you want to join us via Zoom see below for registration details.
