Organization's Profile:

The Garden Club of Vancouver is a group of garden enthusiasts interested in volunteering, learning, and sharing their knowledge in order to raise awareness and support garden projects around the city. At our general meetings we host guest speakers, enjoy informal member-catered lunches and in May and June we explore some of our region’s wonderful gardens.

Special Events:

For more than forty years our members have created beautiful floral arrangements at Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas for hospices, care homes and recipients of the hot meal program by Care B.C. Since 2022 the large Christmas tree that graces the entrance hall at Easter Seal House has been decorated with our members' handmade ornaments. Fundraising for gardens has always been an important part of our Club and our members have raised and donated hundreds of thousands of dollars towards the beautification of green spaces around the city. Our members have donated generously to both VanDusen and UBC Botanical Gardens and other recent recipients include Covenant House, Honour House, Canuck Place, Alderwood Family Development Centre, Vancouver Hospice and the Powell Place Women’s Shelter. In 2020 the Club led a major fundraising project and partnered with other donors to raise almost $80,000 to fund a complete garden refurbishment for Easter Seals House on Oak Street.
