| Meeting Time and Location: | We meet at Cranberry Senior's Centre, 6792 Cranberry St., Powell River at 7:15pm on the 4th Tuesday of each month except July, August and December. |
| Organization's Profile: | Our aim is to promote organic and sustainable garden practices and educate new gardeners and those new to our 7b to 9 climate zone. Powell River on the Upper Sunshine Coast is in a unique climate area. We deal with an abundance of rocks, roots and sandy soil but are compensated by more hours of sunshine and a mild winter climate. we are a GMO free zone. At our meetings we bring in speakers on a wide range of garden related subjects, have an on-site Master Gardener, a lending library of garden books and magazines, free refreshments and a friendly membership to make a new resident feel welcome. In addition to our monthly meeting, we go on tours of our member's gardens, hold a large community plant sale and have workshops and other events. |
