Gaia College Online Courses - Fall

Gai College Online Classe(s) in Organic Land Care starts a new term in September (Fall) 2019.

Our classes are 14 weeks long, available 24/7, and are good for the starting gardener or the seasoned professional looking to expand their services.

Business Skills for Landcare Professionals
Learn the rules and regulations of owning a small business, and create a formal marketing and business plan.

Growing Food 1 – Fundamentals
Growing Food en masse is a large undertaking, and here you’ll learn the tips and tricks of doing so.

Ecological Plant Knowledge 2 – Ornamentals
Flowers, and Flowering plants for Horticulture are in a class of their own.

Living Green Infrastructure
This course provides a deeper understanding of nature’s contribution to the success of human created infrastructure, and helping everyone make better and more integrated decisions for long-term benefit.

Rainwater Harvesting & Management
Do you want to learn how to harvest rainwater with technical skill, while following the industry standards?

Mid Island Floral Art Club Meeting

We will be making hand-tied bouquets with flowers and container that we bring to the meeting. Members will receive instruction from members of the program committee. We will have fun learning a new way to arrange flowers.

Guests are welcome for a $6.00 fee.

Comox Valley Horticultural Society
Gardens in Bloom
Sept 21st and 22nd 2019
10:00am – 4:00pm
Tickets $20 available mid-August at Anderton Nursery, Home & Garden Gate, Art Knapps Plantland in Courtenay, Blue Heron Books in Comox and Seeds in Cumberland
Ticket includes garden descriptions and map.
A 2-day self-guided tour of 10 private Comox Valley gardens showcasing the rich tapestry of colours displayed in fall blooming plants, grasses and foliage.
The event is a fundraiser with the majority of proceeds being returned to the community by way of grants to various organizations and schools in support of horticultural education programs and projects.
