In partnership with Vancity Community Foundation, the BC Council of Garden Clubs, through donations, supports young people entering the horticultural industry by providing scholarships each year to deserving students from academic institutes across British Columbia.
At a time when the climate crisis is at the forefront in our communities, it is more important than ever to encourage the legacy of farming practices, forest management, native and pollinator planting, water-wise gardening, healthy soil management, landscaping and protection of our environment through sustainability in our province among today’s young people.

Your gift keeps students housed,
fed, and on the move!
Students are struggling with the high costs of living. No student should have to decide between rent and textbooks. Our individual awards make a big difference but they are relatively modest, ranging from $200 to $1,900, depending on the cost and length of the program that the student is enrolled in. Our goal for 2026 is to increase these awards, particularly the ones that are on the lower end of the scale.
Being a Member of the BC Council of Garden Clubs Means:

Colour of the year – cloud dancer
We asked our members for pictures from their gardens representing the Pantone colour of the year for 2026. We hope you enjoy the presentation brought to you by our members!
Pantone’s 2026 Colour of the Year is Cloud Dancer (PANTONE 11-4201), a calming white shade symbolizing quiet reflection and serenity. It’s the first time Pantone has chosen a white for this annual selection.
